An honor or memorial gift to CHRISTUS Santa Rosa is a very special way to express your joy, gratitude or sympathy. All special occasions - birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Christmas, religious celebrations - are appropriately marked by a gift in the name of your honoree. A special notification from us will let the honoree or designated family member know of your thoughtful gift (amounts are never revealed).
Gifts of appreciated securities offer the opportunity to support our ministry while receiving a two-fold tax benefit, as well: A charitable deduction for the full present fair market value of the stock, plus no tax on the value of the appreciation. For example, if you contribute long-term stocks with a current value of $15,000 but a cost basis of only $10,000, you are entitled to a charitable deduction of the full $15,000 and you will not be taxed on the $5,000 appreciation. If you wish to contribute securities on which you have a loss, consider selling them first and donating the proceeds to us. You will then realize a tax deduction for the loss in addition to the charitable tax deduction.

With a charitable bequest, you would join hundreds of women and men who have extended their generosity beyond their lifetimes by including CHRISTUS Santa Rosa in their estate plans. These generous individuals have come from all walks of life, with estates ranging from modest to complex. Their foresight has helped to provide an unfailing base of support for our ministry. If you wish for your will to include a bequest to assist CHRISTUS Santa Rosa, we recommend that you discuss with your attorney language similar to the following:
"(Santa Rosa Children’s Hospital Foundation or Friends of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Foundation), a not-for-profit corporation in San Antonio, Texas, is to receive the sum of (indicate specific amount or percentage). This bequest is unrestricted, to be used in a manner consistent with the mission of the organization as directed by its Board of Directors."
Your attorney will need to consider the other provisions in your will and adapt this language as necessary. If you are updating an existing will and wish to include CHRISTUS Santa Rosa as a charitable beneficiary, your attorney can assist in adding a codicil to the existing will.
We especially encourage you to let us know if your estate plans already include CHRISTUS Santa Rosa.
